Measuring Success
A key and vital philosophy that is deeply embedded in
our approach is the way we measure success. We measure
success by how pleased our clients are, how responsive
we have been to address a situation, and how great our
staff and other team members feel every day as we work
through projects. Every one of us understands that
remaining profitable is important, but profit is only a
result of having a successful client relationship as
well as achieving a healthy work setting where every
team member is motivated to deliver the best,
experiences the best, every day, despite the pressures
associated with the profession.
Automation
We believe in and have been committed to automation to
the fullest extent possible to constantly enhance the
efficiency of the design process. Whereas traditional
engineering is done through a whole spectrum of
time-consuming analysis, we have improvised the
traditional analyses through creative and special
purpose computer models that we developed in-house to
speed up the analyses and design work. These innovations
give us the edge over other firms.
Knowledgebase
We make use of a knowledge base to share knowledge and
best practices with all team members including sub
contractors involved in the design process. Knowledge
base reduces training time and makes the desired
information available to engineers and staff quickly. A
knowledge base makes the team less vulnerable to changes
in personnel and also ensures consistency in approach as
the project progresses through various phases. As a
result, less time is lost in research and the experience
gained in any project becomes available to all
resources.
Quality Assurance
The single largest challenge in a design process is
Quality Assurance. We strive to make sure both high
level reviews and detailed checks are an integral part
of the design process. We maintain a system of
checklists to ensure that all aspects of the design are
checked methodically. Digital Energy, Inc. has served as
the Commissioning Agent on many large projects over the
last 10-years and part of the commissioning process
involves a methodical system of check lists, which we
have successfully applied to the design process as well.
MRB Affiliation
During the last three years, Digital Energy, Inc. s
Principal has served and continues to serve as one of
the board members of the California State University
Mechanical Review Board. The 23-campus California State
University system has selected only a few professionals
to perform this function following an extensive
selection process and based on known track record of the
professionals in the industry. As part of this
responsibility, Digital Energy s role involves providing
a high level review for mechanical systems in numerous
CSU campus building construction projects. MRB
affiliation and familiarity with CSU helps us provide
highly responsive solutions.
Energy Efficiency in Design Practices
As emphasis on energy efficiency and green building
design continues to gain momentum, Digital Energy Inc.
is uniquely positioned to apply the expertise gained in
new building or building renovation projects. Digital
Energy, Inc. has LEED Certified engineers and is also a
Prime Consultant to the California Energy Commission,
State of California, and has been assisting CEC in
numerous energy retrofit projects statewide in
educational institutions for nearly 10 years.
Commissioning Expertise
The trend amongst facility owners and operators over the
last few years is to commission buildings, since
statistics shows that a rigorous commissioning process
is known to result in a better performing building.
During the last 10-years, Digital Energy, Inc. has
provided commissioning services for a number of
institutional projects. Our commissioning experience
allows us to provide a comprehensive design and
commissioning service package to our clients in a cost
efficient manner.
Our Exemplary Support Policy
As design professionals, we play a pivotal role in
communication and coordination with project team
members. Our internal communication policy adheres to
strict standards of timeliness and communication
protocol. We have a system of making sure that emails
are responded to within 8- hours maximum, whereas in
reality, average response time for emails is less than
4-hours. Likewise, we remain available 24x7 to handle
emergency situations, should it be needed.
